My name is Jade Radford (previously Jade Williams). I am a fully qualified therapist offering therapeutic play to children. I have a Masters Degree in Play Therapy from Roehampton University and provide a mobile play therapy service in schools and other organisations. I am able to plan, implement, and evaluate specialist therapeutic support for a wide variety of mental health needs within a range of settings. I am also qualified to work with parents and carers to provide Child and Parent Relationship Training (CPRT). I have current experience with children who display generalised anxiety, difficulties with peers and relationships, anger, stress, oppositional defiance, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, autistic spectrum disorders, and attachment disorders. As well as experience with children and families who have experienced trauma, abuse, parental mental illness, domestic violence, family breakdown, and bereavement.
I am a member of the British Association of Play Therapist and access regular clinical supervision. I am dedicated to continued professional development, attending up-to-date training and Play Therapy support groups with other therapists in the local area.
Prior to my Play Therapy training I worked as part of South East Surrey Behaviour Support Team. In this role I would travel across Surrey visiting schools; providing advice and strategies to Teachers and Teaching Assistants, and planning and implementing individually tailored programmes of support for children on both a one-to-one and group basis. I have also worked as a Therapist in Applied Behaviour Analysis that supports the development of speech and communication in non-verbal children on the autistic spectrum.
I am passionate about my work with children and enjoy the rewards and challenges they bring. I am particularly enthusiastic about being an advocate for vulnerable children, working closely with their families and support networks to ensure their voices are heard.
